Facts
A tiger milk mushroom which is also called the Lignosus rhinoceros is always grown individually, unlike the other mushrooms which are grown in bulk or groups. You might not find another one within a radius of 5 km.
Another fact about them is that once the mushroom has sprouted out of the ground and produced a stem and a cap, their nutritious values must have been depleted. This is because all the nutrition lies in the underground tuber and sclerotium. And once the fruiting body appears all the active compounds in the sclerotium must have been depleted.
As these mushrooms were very rarely produced, it was difficult to find them in the forest. Dr. Tan who knows about the Tiger Milk Mushroom benefits emphasized the importance of cultivating it to increase its usage.
After years of trial, finally Dr. Tan and his team had found a way for mass production of this tiger tree mushroom.
